"What we have is civilization; what we are is culture," says Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

India has a distinct identity among the world's nations. Because every nation has a single tradition and culture, but we are the nation with many traditions and cultures. Dances, music, literature, and other aspects of Indian culture are examples. Several things from the Western world have infused India as a result of Globalization. These events resulted in significant changes in common aspects such as eating habits and clothing.

Western culture has had a significant impact on our customs, traditions, social and moral behavior, as well as our love and respect for others. After all course, wearing clothing that makes us feel comfortable is not an offence, but ignoring things like traditional attire on festivals and auspicious occasions should be taken seriously. Aside from these two, we are ignoring many things that were once considered unique to India.

Dance - Indian dances included Kuchapudi, Bharatanatyam, Kathakali, Manipuri, and Odissi, among others. Certain people considered these to be their profession and made a living by performing in auditoriums. Music is similar in this regard.

Music is not in any way inferior to Western music. India's vocal and instrumental music is distinct. Carnatic and Hindustani vocal styles are represented. The instrumental section includes veena (often compared to the goddess Saraswati), tabala, mrudangam, and shehnai. These days, teachers of these instruments claim that the veena instrument is not attracting more students because students believe it is too heavy to carry from one location to another.

Literature - Rabindranath Tagore, whose works are praised by Westerners, was awarded the prestigious Nobel Prize for his work Gitanjali. Since then, no Indian has won the prize, but that doesn't mean our ability to write has diminished. We underestimate ourselves, and we are eager to read J.K.Rowling's books but not those written by Indian authors. How many of us are familiar with the names Arundati Roy and Arvind Adiga, who won the prestigious Man Booker Prize?

What factors caused Indian culture to lose its sparkle and legacy:

  •  In today's competitive world, every parent expects their child to devote as much time as possible to academics, which excludes these activities.
  • The majority of education includes works by Westerners (except local language and social studies).
  • A lack of support for artists with these abilities. in the Society:

Many teenagers' lifestyles are being influenced by Western culture today. Some of the seemingly 'cool' things that the youth copy from the Western world, such as dress code, drug use, walking style, foreign accents, and how we interact with elders, are disastrous. This trend is catching on in social media, movies, and music.

Unfortunately, the trend has also consumed Rwandan teenagers. They don't care about the origins or reasons for this uncivilized behavior; they just want to be seen and admired by other teenagers.

Many celebrities in the Western world, for example, regularly smoke and use drugs. This influences the teens because they believe it is what should be done in order to be accepted and recognized by society. This has a negative impact on the teens because it has led to wrongdoing, such as stealing from their parents to fund these expensive exploits.

The western world's influence has also led to a decline in discipline among teenagers, as they tend to follow in the footsteps of their western counterparts who disrespect elders, particularly their parents.

I want the teens to answer the following questions: What would happen if the internet and televisions were not available? What would today's teenagers be like? How would they react to various types of people? Isn't there going to be boredom?"

Western culture has had a significant impact on our customs, traditions, social and moral behavior, as well as our love and respect for others. Nowadays, people want to be free and do not want to be bound by Indian customs and traditions. We are witnessing the breakdown of joint families and the growth of nuclear families on a daily basis. Few people are interested in making changes and sharing their possessions with other family members; the concept of privacy is becoming more important, and love and respect for others, particularly elders, is shrinking. People are too busy in this information age to care for others. Western culture has planted the seeds of selfishness in Indian minds.

These are in direct opposition to Indian culture, which has always taught us to live in harmony with one another and to love and respect everyone at home. With no experience of a nuclear family because of the absence of grandfather and grandmother, and both parents working, a child fails to learn ethical or moral values, and instead learns whatever little he sees and understands from the world and his teachers. As a result, we end up raising a child with few ethical values who is not afraid to engage in unethical behavior because no one is there to teach him good or bad or to stop him from doing something wrong.

Western culture is not entirely bad; while it has made our lives faster, it has also made them easier and more comfortable. We must value our Indian culture, which taught us to live in peace and harmony with others by increasing our tolerance and patience. Many people in other countries recognize the value of Indian heritage and are adopting aspects of Indian culture such as yoga and meditation, wisdom and teachings passed down from ancient saints, and so on. The study of Indian wisdom can help people of any race enrich their lives.

Teenagers are regarded as tomorrow's leaders, which makes me wonder how the next generation will fare when the youth behave in this manner. I imagine the implication is that smoking, drinking, drug abuse, indecent dressing, and indiscipline will dominate the next generation.

This is why teenagers require extensive training and sensitization in order to understand what exactly they are supposed to copy from the Western world, particularly aspects that will result in a positive change in the country's development.

It is time to recognize both the positive and negative effects of Indian and Western culture, and to adopt positive cultural practices while rejecting those that degrade the quality of human life.
