Summertime sunbathing is one of life's pleasures. However, for some of us, the sun can be harmful to our heart health.
Start new habits to keep yourself and your
heart healthy if you have a heart condition, are over 50 years old, or are
overweight. If you have a heart condition, you are more likely to suffer from
heat stroke, sunstroke, or heat exhaustion. To keep your body temperature cool
in hot weather, your heart must beat faster. Know what to do for your body when
it's hot and humid so that your heart can function optimally. This helps to
keep the heat from stressing your heart.
Heat waves are unpleasant for healthy folks. Hot,
humid days may be dangerous for people who have cardiovascular problems. Do not
get too hot or freezing. If the temperature rises too high, the proteins that
make up your body stop working.

Heat moves from warm areas to cooler ones like water streaming down a river. If
air along with you is cooler than the body, it radiates temperature. Once the

Keep the heart happy between summertime
cookouts and your favorite ice cream cones. Eating a lot of heavy food strains
your heart and stomach. Fresh local vegetables and corn on the cob are grilled
into vegetable kabobs. Keep the butter at bay. Instead of a higher-calorie beef
burger, opt for a lean white meat turkey burger.
Maintain you’re cool.
Swimming in a pool or the ocean helps to beat
the heat. Keep cool in other ways if you're not near water, a fan, or air
conditioning. Apply cold compresses to different parts of your body. If you're
out in the sun for more than 20 minutes, seek shade or shelter. This can
benefit both your health and your heart.
Take frequent breaks.
Rest in a cool or shady area to avoid feeling
dizzy in the heat. Raise your feet. This keeps blood flowing from your heart to
your brain. This can lessen the sensation of fainting. Take breaks in the shade
to hydrate if you exercise lightly.
